About Copying Gradescope Assignments and Rubrics
Gradescope assignments can be duplicated and reused within the same course or copied to other Gradescope courses. Additionally, Gradescope rubrics and comments can be copied between assignments or courses.
When Should I Copy Gradescope Assignments and Rubrics?
Copying assignments and rubrics saves setup time when working with similar assessments, either in the same course or in another course entirely
You may require multiple versions of the same assignment
Copying Gradescope Assignments
In the same course
- Navigate to the Assignments page of the Gradescope course where the new, duplicated assignment will be saved.
Note: Due to the presence of an existing assignment, it is assumed that a connection between an instructor’s Gradescope course and their CourseLink course site has already been made.
- Click on the Duplicate Assignment button in the bottom right of the page.
A dialog box with a list of the instructor’s Gradescope courses will appear.
- Select the course that contains the assignment that needs to be duplicated. A list of assignments within that course will appear.
- Click on the assignment that will be copied and enter a new title. Finally, click the Duplicate button.
- To adjust due dates for the assignment, select the new assignment, click the Settings button from the lefthand toolbar and choose new dates and times from the menu.
- If an instructor plans to share the assignment with students over CourseLink, they should follow the steps on our Gradescope’s CourseLink Integration page with one slight difference: For step #4, instructors should select An existing Gradescope Assignment and then choose their new assignment from the list.
