PEAR Data Gap Event

Importance Notice for PEAR Instructors: PEAR Data Gap - Sep. 10th, 2022

To bring PEAR back online, OpenEd was asked by Computing and Communication Services (CCS) to restore to the application using data from our backups. This restoration was successful, however there is a small data gap from the last PEAR backup recorded to the moment PEAR went offline on September 10th.  As a result, any PEAR activitythat was recorded in the database from 6:00 am to approximately 11:30 am ET on September 10th has unfortunately been lost and is no longer accessible to us.

Please note that if you did not access PEAR to create or modify any projects/grading forms or accept student file submissions for a PEAR project on September 10th between 6:00 am and 11:30am, you have not been impacted by this data gap event.

If you accessed PEAR on September 10th between 6:00 am and 11:30 am ET to:

  • Create a new PEAR project or new PEAR grading form:

    • You will need to recreate that PEAR project or grading form.

  • Modify an existing PEAR project (e.g., modify dates, add/remove users, add/remove/edit stages, etc.):

    • You will need to reapply your modifications to that PEAR project.

  • Modify an existing PEAR grading form (e.g., add/remove/edit criteria, modify instructions or titles, add attachments, copy grading forms, etc.):

    • You will need to reapply your modifications to that PEAR grading form.

Additionally, if any students made file submissions to your project(s) on September 10th between 6:00 am and 11:30 am ET, those files have been lost and will need to be resubmitted.
