About iClicker Grades

After you have linked your iClicker course with your CourseLink course via the integration, you can sync your class roster and manage how grades will be synced.

 

Sync iClicker Roster with CourseLink Classlist

You can sync your iClicker roster with the CourseLink Classlist via the following steps:

  1. Log in to the iClicker instructor website.
  2. Select People.
On the iClicker Cloud navigation menu, the People tab has a box around it.
  1. Click Sync Roster.
  1. While the sync process occurs, a popup will appear.
The Sync Roster popup says "Synching with Brightspace Large courses can take a while to load based on your roster size and your connection speed.
  1. A confirmation message will be displayed when the roster is successfully synced.
The confirmation message says "Sync Complete. 3 students from Brightspace are enrolled in iClicker and are good to go. Action may be needed: 15 students from Brightspace need to enroll in your iClicker Course. View Details" There is a Close button.

Note: Synching the iClicker Cloud course roster with the CourseLink classlist is a manual process. This process will need to be repeated to add new students from the CourseLink classlist to the iClicker Cloud roster.  

 

iClicker Grade Settings

In iClicker Cloud, you have the option of synchronizing your iClicker graded items as one grade item in CourseLink or individual grade items in CourseLink. To choose how you want your iClicker grades to sync with CourseLink, the following steps can be followed:

  1. Log in to the iClicker instructor website.
  2. Select Settings.

  1. Click Integrations.
The Integrations tab on the Settings menu has a box around it.
  1. Under Grade Sync Settings, there is the option to sync iClicker activity scores to your CourseLink gradebook as: (1) A total, combined score in a single column (the default column name in CourseLink is iClicker Grade; however, the name can be changed) or (2) Individual activity score in separate columns (the column titles in the CourseLink gradebook will reflect activity names in iClicker).

  1. Under Grade Sync Settings, there is also an option to choose how grades will be synced for students with no iClicker responses. The following options are available: (1) Receive a score of zero in the Brightspace gradebook or (2) Do not receive a score in the Brightspace gradebook.

Note: Syncing grades to CourseLink overwrites manual edits made in the CourseLink gradebook.

 

Editing and Reviewing iClicker Grade Items

Instructional teams can review and edit grades via the following steps:

  1. Log in to the iClicker instructor website.
  2. Select Gradebook.
The Gradebook tab on the iClicker Cloud navigation menu has a box around it.
  1. Click Details.
The Details tab on the Gradebook webpage has a box around it.
  1. Select the score you want to edit.
The score under Class 9 - Quiz 4 has a box around it.
  1. Adjust the score.
The Response popup shows the original score, the total points, and has an input area for adjusting the score.
  1. Select Save.
The Response popup has both a Save and Cancel button. The Save button has a box around it.

The grade items can also be changed in the gradebook by completing the following steps:

  1. Log in to the iClicker instructor website.
  2. Select Gradebook.
The Gradebook tab on the iClicker Cloud navigation menu has a box around it.
  1. Click Details.
The Details tab on the Gradebook webpage has a box around it.
  1. Select the name of the grade item you want to edit.
A grade item called Cass 9 - Quiz 4 has a box around it.
  1. In the Activity Details window, the following can be completed: (1) change the Activity Name, (2) view the Date the activity was completed, (3) view the Activity Type, (4) view the Number of Questions, (5) view the Performance Points, (6) view the Total Activity Points, (7) view the Class Average, (8) select Delete Activity, and (9) select Save.

When you are ready to sync your iClicker grades with the CourseLink gradebook, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the iClicker instructor website.
  2. Select Gradebook.
The Gradebook tab on the iClicker Cloud navigation menu has a box around it.
  1. Select Sync Grades.
The Sync Grades button has a box around it on the Gradebook webpage.
  1. Under the Grade Sync column, you will be able to determine whether grades have been synced based on the icon.
    • Dash: Student has not been synced.
    • Empty circle: The student has not been found in the CourseLink roster.
    • Green-filled circle: The student’s grade shave been successfully synced to CourseLink.
    • Yellow-filled triangle with an exclamation point: The student’s grades have not been synched to CourseLink due to an error.
  2. On CourseLink, the grade will appear as follows:.
    • If the iClicker grade is synced as a single grade item, the gradebook on CourseLink will have an item labelled iClicker Grade (unless this property has been changed). The default weighting is 10%.
    • If the iClicker grade is synced as individual activity scores, the grade items in CourseLink will have the same name as the grade items in iClicker Cloud. The default weighting is 10%.
On the Gradebook webpage, under the Overview tab, the Grade Sync column has a green-filled circle.
